Our Culture

[ care   •   trust   •   collaborate   •   grow ]

We give a damn.

We care about each other and the work we do as an organization. We strive to always put forth the best work and solutions to ensure our partners’ success.

We're built on trust.

We work to have respect and trust for and from each other and our clients. We have the confidence and belief in one another to run with ideas + solutions.

We're better together.

We love sharing ideas in a creative and inspiring environment. While we each bring our own strengths and skillsets to the table, we know we can accomplish greater things when we collaborate.

We evolve.

We live in an ever-changing digital age. Instead of fighting change, we want to innovate along with it. Our goal is to always be growing and improving, evolving as professionals, subject matter experts + as people.

Your User Interface (UI) is more important than ever as more and more information is being accessed online.

UI is the design and framework used to direct your users. It's like a visual map to show them where to go, what they should click on, how to access information, and how to interact with you.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when designing for UI:

✅ use standardized iconography, colors, and styles that are recognizable to your users (i.e. underlined text typically indicates a link)
💻 use the same scrolling patterns implemented by social channels and streaming platforms (people know these well!)
❗️use content hierarchy to show what's most important on your page (larger text and bolder colors tell the brain to read it first)

If you haven't incorporated UI into your online designs, don't wait. Reach out if you need help - we've got the tools you need to amplify your UI!
As more and more people (about half) are accessing the internet from mobile devices, your website needs to be optimized for smaller screens.

An important part of that optimization is understanding how your users are interfacing with your site.

And that's where the "thumb zone" comes in.

Make sure all of your calls to action (CTAs) and navigation links are in the "easy" area of the thumb zone. Having to shift positions or go back and forth between 1 and 2 hands makes the user experience frustrating and promotes bounces (users leaving your site).

Keep them happy and keep them there by designing for the thumb zone!
What demographics are to people, firmographics are to organizations!

Firmographics are what you use to segment corporations into groups. By sorting them, your B2B marketing campaigns can be much more effective.

Think about how much more targeted you can be with your content when you know you're speaking to well-performing, medium-sized, construction companies in the PNW versus all companies across the US.

When potential customers feel like you are speaking directly to them, they are more likely to pay attention to you.

Can you believe social media has only been around for about 20 years?

It's amazing how in its short life, it has managed to redefine how people communicate, interact, shop, and advertise.

And while there are certainly pros and cons to social media, we make a conscious choice every day to use its power for good because it keeps us connected in a way we never thought possible.

New Blog Up!

People have more information than ever at their fingertips and now younger generations have grown up with the internet and devices.

So what can you do to keep up and stay visible?

Are you speaking your audience's language? Here are a few simple tips to get you on the right track:

- Don't condescend. There's never a reason to make people feel bad about what they don't know. Instead, make them feel empowered about what they are learning and their purchase.

- Don't gloat. Exaggerating and bragging can make your audience feel skeptical and suspicious. Instead, try a sincere approach by talking about genuine successes and achievements.

- Don't overdo the jargon. Think you sound clever using fancy words? Your audience won't if they don't understand what you're saying and you'll lose credibility.

- Listen to your audience. Pay attention to their conversations and learn how they talk to one another. Every good conversation starts with good listening.

Being able to speak the same language 📢 creates a connection with your audience increasing your bond and your chances to make a sale.

An empathy map is a visual tool that allows you to process different components of your customer's decision-making process. It is divided into four quadrants; Says, Thinks, Does, and Feels.

How does an exercise like this help you increase sales? It can give you insight into the emotions, motivations, and behaviors of your potential customers, which in turn can inform you about their behaviors, habits, and actions.

What are your buyer’s most significant pain points? What emotions are they feeling? What are they thinking about in those moments of struggle and how can your product solve their problem?

This understanding can lead to connection and connection can lead to a relationship and a relationship can lead to sales.

Need help with laying out your map? We can help.
No one's more excited than we are for the opening of Kelly's Olympian right here in the heart of downtown #Tacoma

We recently partnered with the J Squared team who is responsible for this feat and we've got to say, we are so lucky to be able to work with them. Not only are they bringing a historic landmark to grit city, but they are also responsible for the reinvigoration of several buildings downtown (we know this because we are in the process of building their new website RIGHT NOW).

These friends live and work right here in Tacoma and their vision is simple yet determined - to preserve the life and culture the Tacoma community has built. That's music to our ears and we know Kelly's Olympian will feel right at home here.

Can't wait to be enjoying some beverages and burgers with you guys soon! For the full write-up on this story, head over to @suekiddeats

Is unconscious bias affecting your ability to reach potential customers?

If it is, chances are, you don't even realize it (hence, the "unconscious" part).

So how do we overcome biases and be inclusive and equitable in our marketing efforts?

Well, the first step is awareness. Exploring your current activities and direction is a good place to start. Once you make the choice to eliminate biases, you begin to open up your business to so many other possibilities and stop perpetuating stereotypes, which serves us all.

The pandemic pushed us to adopt digital practices way sooner than some of us anticipated. But that doesn't mean we can't catch up quickly.

There are two things you can immediately implement to be relevant in today's digital atmosphere:

1. Organizing your content
2. Automating your content

Digital marketing can be easy if you have the right technology and the right partners to show you how.
